For the past few months, I've been researching ways to take my snail mail supplies on the go with me. As a Letter Writers Alliance member, I am often involved in mail art meetups in my area. It's nice to be able to take favorite tools and stationery to share with others.

I had an idea of what I wanted. I didn't want a travel case. I wanted a wooden tool box. Finally, this month, I found exactly what I was looking for in the form of an affordable art supply box.

In addition to the wooden box, I also found a use for all those Altoids tins I've been saving. They are perfect for housing postage stamps, ink cartridges, calligraphy nibs, etc.

With the help of some Instagram inspiration, I decided to alter my tins to look like mini parcels. It's amazing what some vintage stamps and Tim Holtz washi tape can do to add a special patina to those adorable little storage vessels.
