Witchy Wednesday: DIY Spooky Bookshelf

October 05, 2016 by Tammy Wright in Creating

Happy Wednesday. We're busy in Florida today getting ready for Hurricane Matthew. Many of us have to postpone our Fall decorating until after the winds pass us by later this week.

But, for those of you not in the path of the storm, I've got another paper crafting project for your Halloween decor. Take a look at how a simple paper bag can transform your bookshelf into something old and spooky.

Inspiration Hunting: Disney Springs

June 25, 2016 by Tammy Wright in Field Trips

One of the best things about living in central Florida is access to Disney and the abundance of inspiration it provides. This week we were in Orlando for a baseball tournament at ESPN Wide World of Sports. So of course, we took advantage of the theme parks.

One of my favorite areas is Disney Springs. It's become a great spot for meeting up with family and friends visiting the Disney parks. There is no cost to get in and it's full of fun, food and shopping. Ever changing, there is always something new to spark the imagination.

The newly constructed area of Disney Springs is basically a very nice outdoor mall which makes it nice for us located west of the parks. Now we don't have to drive very far for nicer shops like Anthropologie and Sephora. Christmas shopping is going to be fun this year.

Here's a quick peek at the newly constructed area of Disney Springs as well as a couple stationery and craft room items I picked up. Where do you go for inspiration?

Make A Creative Mojo Box

June 10, 2016 by Tammy Wright in Creating

Inspiration can be found in so many places if you are willing to open your eyes and see. Much of my inspiration comes from nature. I love the colors, the sounds, the energy. No surprise, I also find inspiration from other artists even if their style is totally different from mine.

A recent example is the artist, Jenniebellie. I love her energy and passion. Whenever I need a creative jolt, I watch her videos. They are exploding with creativity. One of her ideas I fell in love with this week was making a Creative Mojo Box for your art or craft workspace.

The idea is to use personal items that have a story, speak to you and get your creative juices flowing. I believe these items should be things you already have and gifts from the Universe that give you little clues throughout life.

I decided to make my own Creative Mojo Box. The exercise was a ton of fun and really made me think about some of the items I had throughout my house. If you are interested in the how it all came together here's a video where I break down the contents. I highly encourage you to give this project a try.
